 The HP Compaq nx9600 is just an ordinary computer from the company that gave us rusting personal digital assistants, and inky printers. Anyway, there's nothing new with this computer aside from its name. As a matter of fact, I'm on the verge of confusion and I can't help but wonder why a multi-billion company will create another useless model that has nothing to rave about. Well, this model has the usual 17" Liquid Crystal Display that claims to provide the best viewable area for all your computing needs. There's a keyboard with a touch pad on it, and a 2GB random access memory, which are not something to be proud of.
According to product reviews, this model is a powerhouse laptop. Yeah, right, it's powerful enough to induce boredom. Make no mistake about it, this model is aiming for the business world, jolly good! As if we needed more products to turn our offices into sleeplandia. We already have enough zombies wearing yellow Spongebob ties, overly submerged with their waterworld of uninteresting clerical work. I wouldn't be surprised if morons buy such a stinking model. They're worthless pile of dung beetles anyway. Yeah, it has DVD/CD drive, but who cares, we've got waterproof DVDs in the market! I'll appreciate it if HP made a talking dung beetle than this evil-looking laptop.

My seventeen-year old niece told me that HP should consider pink as the official color of the company's laptop series if ever they'll be releasing new models soon. Since Asus already released pink notebooks in the market, then HP should definitely follow the trend. I gave her a pleasant smile, and I knew that she saw a feeble light shining in my face that says, "that's the worst thing that will ever happen to laptops!" Really, living with a niece who likes the color pink more than she likes her father made me realize that colors can make or break a girl's sanity!
We were in Circuit City shop looking at sleek notebooks when she stated that stupid suggestion. But I didn't have the heart to tell her what's at the back of my mind: "Honey, if notebooks are colored you-know-what, only silly girls like you and some people addicted to marijuana will buy them," so I just smiled and shrugged my shoulders. What's with pink, anyway? Using my iPaq, I googled for the word and it gave me three definitions: a) a slight shade of red, b) a Eurasian plant, and c) sounds like a car engine that is firing too early! Good thing the shop displays loads of products from HP, and thankfully, nothing's pink.

 There are some people who still keep a desktop computer even if they already own a portable notebook. Just like my best friend Riomara, she has a Dell Optiplex computer at home and an HP Pavilion Dv1680us notebook that she brings for work and for out-of-the-country travel.
But if you'll ask me, I'd stick to the laptop because it's much easier to maintain and upgrade than the desktop computer.

The 5.95-pound HP Compaq nc8430 is perhaps the lightest and the most portable notebook running in MS XP Pro. I love taking this to the nearest coffee shop whenever I want to write something on my online diary. It comes with a huge hard drive, but it's a bit sluggish compared to other notebooks from HP.
Anyway, the beautiful and sleek black design of this model made me think that sluggishness is unimportant for laptops, when their chassis is as pretty as this. It comes with a well-designed keyboard and matte surface touchpad that makes typing feel like a leisure activity. At 1.1 by 14.1 by 10.2 inches HWD, with a screen size of 15.4 inches, it's a wonder how this small gadget can provide dropdead gorgeous graphics and fantastic images.
I love its ability to serve as a stand alone DVD and CD player. I highly recommend this notebook for gamers who love Xbox 360 games and PlayStaion 2. When I tested some of my games in it like Loco Roco, the brightly-lit environment of the game became more vivid and the cute graphics became more colorful without the viewing fatigue. Overall, the performance of this notebook is okay, and it is very ideal for any workaholics as well as movie and game buffs on the go.

 After the merging of Hewlett-Packard and Compaq, the Presario line of portable laptops still lives on. The svelte, new HP Presario R4125US does what its predecessors failed to perform. The R4125US loses the sluggish Intel Core Duo processor in favor of a faster 2.2GHz AMD Mobile Athlon 64. This elegant powerhouse of a notebook comes at a very reasonable price.
There's a lot to rave about this gadget. The travel weight is kept at 7.85 pounds even with the adapter. It has a large screen, 15.4-inch widescreen that provides a bit sharper image, thanks to its BrightView technology. At 1.88 by 10.96 by 14.25 inches (HWD), it's amazing how manufacturers were able to place a magnificent display on such a tiny unit. The keyboard is not big enough to match the measure of the full-sized keyboard, but still, I find it comfortable to use. The system is very nice for surfing the net, reading magazine articles, and scrolling through Excel and Word documents.
I think HP has done the right thing of combining the Athlon processor with Microsoft XP. With a large memory of 512MB, the combination provides you a notebook that is capable of running quintessential workloads. The collection of ports is sufficient to answer all your audio and video necessities like playing Xbox 360 games.

Laptops are getting better and better as time goes by, like last year, all laptops that were released were as light as 500 grams. Now, device makers are creating portable computers in small, petite, tiny, little, whatever you wanna call it, all I know that they're just a bit bigger than my palm. Ultraportables are the newest in thing in the computer block, and if you do not know what that means, it's the smallest laptops, I think the size of a personal digital assistant that you can by. Although there are guys who wants to stick with the normal laptop size, these latest gadgets are attracting the traveler type of business enthusiast since they can place the gadget beside their coffee in a small tray in a business-class plane. Personally, I think I like these baby notebooks more than the bulky type because it's more convenient and practical to bring them in out of town meetings and conferences than the huge ones that need laptop bags.
I'm actually using HP OmniBook 500, weighing only at least 6.7 pounds, and I assumed the best ultraportable my hands have laid on. The keyboard is slightly noisy but then again, your fingers won't a hard time typing because the tiles are not crammed unlike in PDAs. Another thing I like about this gadget is that it has a Help button that serves as a link to Windows Help and HPs wide online technical and customer support services.

Hewlett-Packard is making a big splash on the portable industry today since it's the only company that produces at least four series of business and personal notebooks and a dozen units of personal digital assistant series every half a month. As far as the laptops are concerned, I believe HP is also trying to input high definition technology on the resolution of the screens of their products. Not that I'm attached to HP, but I'd rather have their laptop than the ones from Dell because HPs are more user friendly despite the high technology in it. As of now, HP also have laptops meant for DVD viewing and it's no ordinary portable DVD player because the sound surround and the realistic images can grab anyone's attention especially when you're watching SilentHill in it. I think they are also conceptualizing on a laptop that is exclusively for gaming, but it's not like your ordinary portable playstation I hope. Although its rival companies like Dell and Apple are gaining huge support form the computer driven public, HP fans are clamoring still for more cutting edge products from the company.
Speaking of laptop, I recently discovered their DV5157EA and it is undoubtedly among the bestsellers according to the sales lady I spoke with yesterday. If you believe in love at first sight, then that's definitely what you'll feel if you see this brand because of it's 15.4" bright wide screen that is really ideal for cinematic viewing. And with the weight of 2.98 kg, I think this is considered light compared to other brands, that you can take anywhere without the use of a laptop bag.

What I like about laptops and notebooks created by HP is that, there so ultra-portable and is very ideal for a business enthusiast like me who needs to fly from one place to another to attend business meetings with clients and coworkers. I also think that an average office worker would like to have a notebook that is small, lightweight and very transportable to bring it to his home and office easily. having a fashionable laptop bag is okay, but the thing I want to point out is when the machine per se is already out of its shell.
As for HP, their new series are 3G-enabled which provides a greater productivity to maximize the use of broadband connections as long as there's signal. Aside from the fact that they come in competitive prices, HP can be more affordable as compared to other laptop brands in the market. For example, is the HPs nc series wherein all notebooks has this distinct corporate design which is very appealing for business use.
The nc6320 has this graphite-gray exterior covered in magnesium alloy to maintain its coolness though you've been using it for a couple of hours already. The keyboard and the mouse makes every little noise ideal for workaholics who wanted to finish their paperwork without disturbing other passengers, office colleagues and roommates. The extended battery life of the product allows you to work on above 4 hours of computing. The screen is really superb because it's matte finished and prevents the glare if your office is using a fluorescent lighting.

 I believe laptops today are what we can call desktop killers since it's changing consumers' taste on buying computer equipments and instead of buying a desktop computer, they switch to the lighter, thinner, sleeker and travel-wise PC which are notebooks. I have a desktop at home but I already gave to my young cousin who's into the care giving career so he can use it for his medical studies. I actually gave up using laptops three years ago because aside from their bulky size, I think it's not healthy for me to bring them to my office everyday and take it home after working hours. I hate transferring files like peer to peer sharing because if I can save it automatically in my computer and bring it to the conference afterwards, its better than saving files in a disk and upload the data in my office desktop which would take a lot of time. Unlike with my laptop where I can work with it anywhere I want.
I'm currently using the HP dv5000z notebook and I'm enjoying its service because it has a wide-screen monitor that provides clear images like those high definition television by Samsung. I like it because I can use for my office work like presentations during meetings and for entertainment because I can play movies and songs in it like having a business notebook and a DVD laptop in one. Aside from that it only cost less than $700 which is a cheap price for a very portable, reliable and durable computer like mine.
